Upper Mustang Trekking-14 Days

We started our exciting overland tours from Kathmandu in the morning and reach Pokhara "The Lake City" in the afternoon. It was a pleasant ride and stop for breakfast and lunch along the way. You have a option to experience white water rafting in the  Trisuli River, which is good for the beginner as it is just 3+ grade but has got many beautiful rapids though.  

In the next morning having an amazing flight to Jomsom with a small Twin otter for about 25 minutes and begins the walk on the bank of Kaligandaki. Kali Gandaki is a Holi River where you can find the Fossil and Amonite. As soon as you start the trek, you fell the different atmosphere and Micro Climate. This is a great feeling and facing towards the North to Kagbeni. 

Kagbeni is a beautiful town with old houses and monastery, this is the  gate way of Upper Mustang where you have to stop and entry the permits and belonging in the police check post. Kagbeni is a junction of world class trek Annapurna Circuit and Upper Mustang Trek. We start our trek with our friendly guide and porter up to Lo-Mangthang. The nominal kingdom of Nepal. The land escape is very much diverse and I feel like walking in the desert. The mountain view are dominating in each place. 

We were siting in the shade of large tree, overlooking into the valley, The squirrel and rat were busy and there were ants in a long line scurrying back and forth between two small tree. The wind was from the southern part and carrying much dust. The Mountain were blue and dreamy, often they had seemed so close, but in fact they are too far away. A small bird was drinking from the likey pipe. The two squirrels with large bushy tails were chasing each other up and down a small tree, they would climb to the top and come spinning down with mad speed to the ground and then go up again. 

Upper Mustang is very much rich in term of Tibetan culture and customs. Every house decor with Buddhist prayer flags and wooden roof. Almost each house has little Buddha to pray with family and they all have big faith on their king. 

Now, the road construction is almost complete and you better to have a four wheel drive trip to Upper Mustang trip. I have been there with overland trip and enjoyed very much. We were driving about few hours and partly walked along the way to have great experience and feel it.
